For a while now I have had this really bad itch for a BMW M2 before they stop making it. They have just slightly face lifted it with a few bits.

It will then be tuned slightly...

    20157776_1600395753306663_1744297377777521361_o-2.jpg

Over here in the UK a very slightly red one is around £37-40k. Now I can afford to finance it but I have zero finance on anything except the house I live in. The PCP deal is 8k down and £550 a month with quite a large balloon payment at the end or I just hand it back, for me thats dead money.

    Now, here is the dilemma...

I have 30+ watches in my personal collection and can only wear one at once. I have played with the idea of selling a few to buy the M2 outright so I will own the car from the get go. People say that cars loose money etc but the M2 will cease production soon so I'm told. It will not be a daily driver so milage won't be mental in years to come so residual (hopefully) won't be on its arse.

    I would let go:

Apollo 20th Anniversary ROW 4000 pcs
Apollo 20th Anniversary US issue 2000 pcs
    Apollo 25th Anniversary 2500 pcs
    Gemini 4 2005 pcs
    Japan Racing 2004 pcs
    Apollo-Soyuz Meteorite dial
    145.022 - 78
    Rolex Hulk

    plus a few others.

So my question to you is...

    Sell some piece's or not?

If you really have to scratch that itch, I would say go for it!
But...in my view, soon to be discontinued or not, the car will depreciate for many many years,
before maybe stabilizing, let alone start to appreciate.

Depreciation i hear you say... I thought that when I passed on the original 1M and now for a nice one they are £50k easy, which is more than retail new.

Thing is I am attached to the watches like hell!

Do what gives you the most pleasure, only get one shot at living your life. Not everything has to come to dollars and cents.

I understand exactly where you are coming from on the first part, cars and watches, something about them :)
...on the second part, unfortunately the closest I have come to moonwatches, is the book :p

    I've owned a 964 RuF and a 997 C4s so I've scratched that itch.

Hi. I would finance the car and keep the watches. If you like the car at the end of the lease, then buy it. I did that and still have my 2003 M3.

The APR means nearly 7k on top of the cars price so thats not an option plus, like I said I finance nothing.

The M3 E46 here is going up in value if the milage is low and the car is in great shape.

Like @quito says, "Keep the watches and finance the car". You will tire of the car eventually, but I doubt that you will ever tire of the watches. But if you decide to sell the Gemini 4 (at a reasonable price), just send me a pm. :D

PS - Don't buy a BMW without a factory warranty.

It would have factory warranty. There is no such thing as a reasonably priced Gemini 4 now.

How about a compromise? Sell fewer watches, make a bigger down payment and finance the car with a traditional four or five year loan.
