Firstly, this is not a veiled sales post as I've been granted sales access anyway. However, I've had this lovely Seamaster for a while now and I'm thinking of selling it. I have the original paperwork from 1965 and it's never been polished by the looks of things. It appears to have never even been opened up either as there's no knife marks etc, so I'm reluctant to give it a go myself and probably ruin it. Before I sell it to fund more "collectible" models, I'd like to know more about it. I don't think it's a "linen" dial, so does this type have a name? It's like a brushed effect with applied ,logo. Also, what movement is likely inside and is there any idea of value? Thanks in advance
B&B refered to theirs as "a silk satin finish"... https://www.blackbough.co.uk/produc...-steel-vintage-wristwatch-circa-1966-wwosad4/
This is similar, but the dial is nowhere near the quality of mine, and also, the lume of the hands and dial on mine match perfectly, so I'd expect mine has the original hands (different to the Austin Kaye model)... https://www.chrono24.co.uk/omega/se...-steel-automatic-50th-birthday--id4196550.htm
Austin Kaye's pricing is to be taken with a pinch of salt. The B&B one was up for £695 from memory - and that's freshly serviced, with a 1 year warranty...
