Just over 2 years ago, @adam78 bought a Ti PAM 338, as chronicled here.

And now I find myself in a similar situation. Much like Adam, I generally wear mid-sized watches (36-39mm), and in fact I've sold off my Speedy and Great White as they were a tad too big. Nothing over 40mm was left. I never thought I'd ever wear a PAM as they were all too big and thick and sporty.

Then a friend showed me his PAM 337, which was a smaller (42mm) Radiomir in SS. The wire lugs meant it wore smaller, and the new in-house movement also meant it was thinner than the regular Panerais. It looked quite dressy and wore surprisingly well on my scrawny wrist.

I started thinking about Adam's Ti PAM 338, which was the Ti version of the 337, and started going "hmm, thinner... smaller...hmmm". They weren't easy to find on the pre-owned market though.

Then bam! one appeared on an Antiquorum auction, and to my surprise, I won it. What happened subsequently was a bit of a mess. The AQ service was terrible - they misinformed me about shipping charges and they were slow to respond to emails. And finally, they screwed up the delivery address. They entered the wrong house number and the watch got sent to my neighbour! Fortunately, after a few phone calls, this was resolved - thank goodness for friendly and honest neighbours!

So a new gator strap was made, and here it is:

The hands are gold, and the brushed Ti case is nice and light. I know some people like the heft of a PAM, but I could live without it. Despite being 42mm, it wears more like a 40-41mm, just a tad bigger than my GMT II, and definitely smaller than a Speedy. Just about right. Really loving this one at the moment!

Bought my first PAM (a 104) last month and it hasn't left my wrist. My Omega & Sub have collect dust unfortunately.

    Wear in good health.

what a beautiful watch.. I am starting to like Panarai as well to be honest. And at some point, I remember swearing not ever buying a watch >37mm

However, the wire lugs really feel nice despite the size

    Thanks folks!

And @pcdubc , you're right, the wire lugs reduce the lug-to-lug distance considerably and makes this the only watch >40mm that I wear without looking silly. The lug-to-lug is in fact slightly less than your TTR1931. The Pam338 wears better than the 40mm Luminors which actually look and wear much larger.

Looks really swell! I'm gratified to have helped you (even if unconsciously) on your quest.

I have collected 3 straps (2 O.E.M.) in addition to the black gator (which I never wear) for my 338. I'm sure you've realized that the screws you need to remove from the case back, to remove the wire lugs and change straps, are really tiny. I have a small dish handy in which I deposit them during the process. I would hate to lose any (though I'm sure they are replaceable -- eventually!).

Have you caught Pam strap disease yet. “Commonly buying numerous straps of larger size to go with the one watch in your collection that fits them“

    Nice lookin watch!
I tried on a second hand 8day with date the other day, a 268? Radiomir. The thing was hot.
I almost walked out with it. These Radiomirs in a smaller size would be classy as hell but I did see the attraction of the size and visibility.
    Great for old guys.

Haha, just to qualify, those are not mine... the straps belong to a good friend who's very kindly lent me his collection of straps to try on my Radiomir. He's the true strapaholic!
