I could use a little help identifying some specifics on this watch.

I saw this at an antique store yesterday but aside from the being a Seamaster De Ville automatic and having a pretty nice medallion on the reverse I don't know anything about it...date...ref...etc...
I could get it running by shaking it several times but I don't know anything about its mechanical condition or service history.
Oh...seller says its gold capped...
Watch only. No box or paper.
Thanks

I don’t know the reference but that looks like solid gold, not capped. What’re they asking?

$575
Another member pointed out the (faint) inscription "gold filled" on the case between the lugs at the bottom in the pic of the back.
Real eagle-eyes that guy !

Looks solid to me too, but the inscription is there. I don’t know about the crown and I would check that top right lug again to make sure it’s not bent out a little bit. Dial looks nice.

This is a front loader.

so if it states gold filled it is.

there is no caseback…

Is it the 32mm version? The tops of the looks look very worn unless than it standard for the smaller mode. Certainly not correct for the full size 34mm

If it was cheap I would snatch it in a heartbeat.

Judging by the relative size of case and strap, I also suspect this is 32mm. Not a particularly desirable watch, and $575 seems like way too much for a tiny, unserviced, gold-filled SMDV, IMO.

This is definitely the 32mm version. Only that model has this sort of proportions on the caseback.

So that is my primary concern about this watch.
Even though the seller showed willingness to work on the price I don't know what I'd be getting into regarding servicing. And yes...it is a pretty small watch.

It looks like there is some crazing on the crysral at 6:00. Could that be due to the front loading aspect?
