I realize I have some serious Speedmaster impulsivity issues. A new sign of this affliction emerged when I noticed that my copy of Moonwatch Only (only about 8 months old) is wearing out . Luckily, or perhaps not since this book has cost me plenty, the book is easier to repair than it's main character. Cover is pulling away at the inner hinge. Dropping it once or twice didn't help. Clearly a service is needed. Worse than chrono creep. To the rescue. Lots of uses for bamboo skewers. Apply a coat of glue to the afflicted margin. Weight overnight with other watch books. Next day. Not perfect but it's fixed! Back to business.
Well done. Now developing that lovely vintage patina. Of course you will have to disclose it has been restored, should you ever decide to sell.
My Book is still mint... Wait! You mean you didn't take pics of all the vital pages and put them in the 'cloud' for your reference so as not to tatter The Book, even when you don't have The Book? I thought everyone did that these days!
Kidding, really. I did think about doing that, since mine is one of those signed by the authors... I've just been obsessively careful... Has anyone done the 'cloud' copy?
Good fix-it info for future reference @Gemini4. My NIB MWO book is hidden somewhere in our house (possibly the garage)...I'm not allowed to have it until Christmas as per specific orders passed down from the Skipper aka the wife unit. When Christmas does arrive, I'll be referencing (and wearing out) the MWO book so your fix-it info is greatly appreciated.
Done better book 22 of 30 is still untouched after arrival. To busy withe work and other watch research
