The title expresses my thoughts, but it has come time to part ways with my Vacheron. It's a yellow/rose gold Malte Grande Classique #81000/000J-8975 caliber 1400 from 2002 according to the paperwork. The box and papers are included, with whatever came with the watch when purchased (yes, that means the original, albeit worn, VC strap is in the box also) - plus a brand new custom Hadley Roma alligator strap that matches the one currently on the watch.

At about 36 mm, it's the perfect size for a dress watch and thin enough to tuck under any cuff. Fantastic guilloché work on the dial - real engine turning, not stamped! The hands are half polished, half frosted for better visibility.

Yep, the Geneva Seal adorns the inhouse movement.

    Logo buckle and crown also.

To make a long story short, here's your chance to own a modern world class watch from one of the Big 3 without spending the same amount as a new car. I've seen these offered anywhere from $7500 - $9500, so I'll stay on the low side of that range and ask $7900. Shipping within the CONUS is included - all other places please inquire first. As usual, first to take it at full asking price gets it. Reasonable offers are considered too. Contact via email at [email protected] or simply message me here. Additional pictures, if necessary, can be taken ("proof of life" as we call it - but you'll have to pay for the newspaper!) and added to the thread or emailed.

    Thanks for looking!

Nothing to do with marriage - everything to do with debt and the interest on that debt. I've decided (with a little help from a friend or two) that debt free existence is better than any watch I own. There might be a JLC and a Zenith hitting this forum soon too.

..... just don't count on any of my Longines or my Centenary going on the block any time soon unless somebody offers me STOOPID money. :p

Don't feel bad as I sold one of my VCs a while back for similar reasons.
Mine too with a custom strap plus a new VC strap and unworn buckle ;-(

Maybe this will help: The 1400 In-house movement is one of VCs newest and finest. Take a close look. Not many, if any, better made or finished.

Vacheron took a few steps back when they were out-sourcing their movements. Now they are back to being in the very top echelon of horology.

f*uck, sh*t, p*ss, tourettes; I just finished a little spending spree on (3) Gallet chronos and (1) UG Lemania.

I sold (2) watches for 700 bucks and proceeded to spend $5500 to "replace them".

You know I love your VC; I always compliment the sweet Jebus out of her. Gonna ask the wife but magic 8 predicts a swift kick in the nuts...

sry I had to expose myself as a pussy. Cat.

Fragile was his mental state. Parkinson's had taken its toll on him but he had fought back from depression so valiantly. "I will never give up. Fight till the end"!! Feeling upbeat and courageous he went to his computer to look at the latest offers of his OF brothren..... There, glimmering in his eyes..... It was then he realized..... I Lack Focus!!!!!!!! ::facepalm1::

That's how it ALWAYS works. ::rant: I have to look it up, but it was either spring of 2011 or 2012 that I had a career season..... but not for my wallet.

Phili Dufour calls the finishing of the cal. 1400 one of the best available in series production.

This is a superb watch at a very reasonable price price and I can vouch for its great looks on the wrist! Definitely worth the investment imho.
