    Hi all,

I just ordered myself a Speedmaster ( Ref: 311.30.42.30.01.005 ). It has been my grail watch for a long time but something that I never thought I would be able to buy. I have a Tag Heuer that my wife bought for my birthday a few years ago but otherwise nothing in this category. Thought I would pull the trigger before the 5% price increase next week and now that I have I am hoping that I won't regret it, £3k is a lot of money to spend on a watch! But it's an investment right?! Not that I would ever dream of selling it.

Now just have to play the waiting game and wait for it to be delivered. Even the box that it comes in looks amazing!

It's a fantastic watch. I got one a few weeks ago and I was the same as you, I never thought I would ever own one.

And yes the box and extras are fantastic! Enjoy it.

Congrats, you have made the right call. But then again I must warn you: I started out with a modern day speedy, and it is the reason why today I cannot get enough vintage chronos

    Congratulations!

Glad to have you on board here at the forums, too.

Your next job is to add a cool avatar photo. :p

You can change it anytime you want, like after you get your 311.30.42.30.01.005 with whatever inspiration might transpire... Welcome!

    Cheers!

Welcome. My first "grail" watch was a 3572.50 Speedmaster. You won't regret buying it, nor will you regret the future Speedmasters you buy. :)

I wouldn't go into this thinking it's an 'investment'

I see watches like cars. They depreciate in value (right out of the store / lot) with the rare few that may appreciate with TLC and some luck. (i.e. vintage restored Mustangs, Acura NSX)

Just enjoy and keep us posted on the journey!

Congratulations. This is only the beginning. I was in the same position as you not so long ago. A few more has joined since then.

What's this about a 5% increase? Is it on all Omega's? I've been researching and think I am going to take the plunge and get the new PO as my first Omega watch.

OP must come back and show the appropriate wrist shot before the board can approve the official welcoming :)
