I assume the dial has been reworked to include enamel. It was advertised as a 1961 caliber 285. Is the watch authentic, or did I just make a mistake? Any help is appreciated.
It is authentic, but as you mentioned, the dial has been 'reworked' - which SIGNIFICANTLY reduces its value. There is also some rust on the movement.
Return it if you can, the dial completely kills the value and finding a nice original is not going to be easy or cheap.
So how much did you pay first ? Easy for us to say too much or not bad than put a figure on a watch with a redial.
$330 is far too much for that reference with that poor redial. Get it returned if you can and then ask questions first. ,David
