Do you understand the difference between gold and "gold filled"?

No problem. Just didn't want you to receive an unpleasant shock.

Er, granted I'm on my phone, in the dark and your pics aren't great by any stretch, but it looks like a redial to me, as well as expensive.

Dial looks good to me. Has “Swiss” at bottom, that’s what it should be for US market model.

Price is high, but condition is above average for these. If you could have gotten a Constellation pie-pan for same price you should have done that deal instead.

Still looks like a nice watch.

Congrats! Look nice but probably redial.

I disagree!

Very nice, slightly better than my Seamaster IMO. What strap did it come with?

A nice first watch! Even if it's a bit pricey, you'll always be able to look back at it as "the one" that started it all 😀

Last year, I found a similar American issue SM on Craigslist, and met the owner.

This example was passed down from his father, and originally gifted in the '50s on the occasion of a wedding anniversary.

Interesting that the 'A' in 'Omega' on yours is flat-topped, while this one is arched. I've no doubt that both yours and his are contemporary originals, but intrigued by the discrepancy.

Cordially,

Art

I have seen that in other references. Sometimes, it could be because of an evolution, but in some cases, both ways can be found in the same period. I guess it is one of the typical Omega variations!
