Do you understand the difference between gold and "gold filled"?

Overall , i believe it's a pretty nice one .
Maybe i could afford a constellation pie pan at this price but i like this one too .

Very nice, slightly better than my Seamaster IMO. What strap did it come with?

 

it seems to be a basic black strap

 

A nice first watch! Even if it's a bit pricey, you'll always be able to look back at it as "the one" that started it all

Last year, I found a similar American issue SM on Craigslist, and met the owner.



This example was passed down from his father, and originally gifted in the '50s on the occasion of a wedding anniversary.

Interesting that the 'A' in 'Omega' on yours is flat-topped, while this one is arched. I've no doubt that both yours and his are contemporary originals, but intrigued by the discrepancy.

I have seen that in other references. Sometimes, it could be because of an evolution, but in some cases, both ways can be found in the same period. I guess it is one of the typical Omega variations!
