Made between 1939 and 1943 according to movement serial no. Caliber no. (right to "swiss"?) unreadable, would give additional info. Case has been over-polished, but dial looks original to me. Unoriginal crown protrudes too much. But it is beautiful!
I believe that watch was owned by a gentleman who wore it frequently for several years, but a knock caused it to keep poor time so after several botched attempts at repair it was relegated to a desk drawer. Some years later it received an overhaul and service at a local watchmaker and was put back into service for around 20 years before being relegated again as quartz watches took off. It is believed to have spent the interim in a sock but details for this period are hazy.
