Actually, I'm starting to be fascinated by what you were searching for so as throw up that result

I'd take that bet. It would have taken coordinating multiple shills to drive up that price and this strikes me as too esoteric an object to try that on. Everyone bidding on this is a veteran, knowledgeable collector - no newbies to fool here.

Can anyone who knows FFs attempt to break down the value here? I see a salvageable, correct case and possibly a movement. Anything else?

Procrastination leads me down strange alleys. But this one was not my search. If you knew what an eye the searcher who showed me this has for the unpolished gem, you would be less surprised. (This, by the way, is not one of the unpolished gems)

    From the link:

Um, if it's basically a piece of stone now how the hell can they tell it worked at all?

There's some Turkish fisherman laughing his head off over what we've made of some rusted hatch fitting from a sunken tramp steamer.

Denatured would be a better description.

There's probably a few jokes in there, like using Antikrist and something about building homages, but I'm at a loss right now because that's actually sort of cool.

Yeah, really - must have been some gold amongst all that sediment.

    ..... oh, wait.... sentiment. Nevermind!
