Digging through boxes of stuff accumulated from long ago, I came across these watches from my past. The Benrus was my watch through high school, having been a Bar Mitzvah gift in 1968. Of course, I’d have rather gotten a speedmaster. I always wanted a chronograph as a kid. The ladies watch was my mother’s when I was a kid. The Crawford, Beaunais and the Bulova were my watches in elementary school, in that order. I always liked how clean and legible the Crawford’s face was. Picked up the Delbana in a bunch of other watch stuff in the early 90’s. None of this stuff has been touched in decades. Some of them started running just from being moved around. Completely forgot about them. It’s easy for me to forget how long I’ve been afflicted with this illness. I know there are at least a dozen other watches I need to dig out. Somewhere, I have Omegas from both my grandfathers, one a solid gold bumper and one stainless steel with gold hands and markers bumper. I have one grandfather’s sterling Waltham ‘Doughboy’ wristwatch from 1917 with the original box (warrantee and serial number on the exterior of the box); that box is somewhere around here. I’ll post better photos of this when I find the box to go with it.
It's really cool that still have all of those, most of my watches from when I was a kid are long gone, though I do have my great grandmothers silver Bulova and great grandad's Illinois. That Waltham is really fantastic.
