I just went on Amazon to see if they had any of the Marathon watches (tritium tubes), which they carried not long ago, and those are gone. Is this a new crack down? At what point will it become illegal to ship any radioactive materials through the mail- as in shipping a watch (have to clarify that in case anyone thinks I am suggesting otherwise)?
Do these watches. When fully assembled really pose a threat? What is the post office view on this? I have a few watches from the 40’s but they have no lume but if I had the opportunity to pick up a watch I liked that did, I would. Should I rethink this.
LoL. And what about the thousands 30s, 40s, 50s random vintage watches more radioactive than Fukushima there are on ebay any given day?
I fear our watches may eventually be under the same attack as lead paint, asbestos, trans-fats and holiday parties.
Not surprising. Amazon has the ability to bring in huge number of buyers, so putting up with their BS is the trade off. Trying to get them to correct a mistake is almost impossible.
Funny, I just did a search for “tritium gun sights” on Amazon and found hundreds of hits. Tritium is still the go to product for gun night sights. Also found a lot of hits for “tritium vials” which are used to replace the old sights. So perhaps this “ban” is only for vintage tritium paint?
So interesting that they have that apparent double standard with the gun sights. there has to be something to the idea of only cracking down on vintage tritium. Either way that's super lame. I almost wonder if it has anything to do with the new Amazon fleet stuff and them maybe having to comply with certain shipping regulations that maybe the post office and other major organizations already have in place that they want to side step.
We have tough liquor laws where I live ( license is scanned everytime you buy alcohol ) and this came about yesterday Soy sauce and teriyaki sauce sellers need a liquor license due to anything with more than 1% alcohol in a greater than 50ml bottle. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-07...icensing-affecting-household-product/11365674
Hmmmm...automatic self winding Oysterquartz. That one probably deserved removal for the incorrect description.
I would love to see teenagers try to get drunk on soy sauce- I would think the vomiting would kill the buzz
