I decided to take a chance on this today at $150 not knowing if it would work or not. Overall it is in good condition with the original crystal and bracelet. I have not inserted a new battery into it yet so I still do not know if it works. I will say that the time setting buttons on the side appear to be gunked up quite bad. This watch is HUGE on my small wrist and very heavy!! I hope it works!

Let us know how it works, these movements can be pretty finicky...

Good luck, if it doesn't work with a new cell you'll likely have a nice heavy paperweight.

I had my Megaquartz fully serviced a couple of years ago as I love the thing so much but I didn't get much change from £1k. Very few people service these now, had mine done by STS in the UK.

Great watches, but there's a reason so many are sold "needing a new battery".

Just for info those buttons on the side, one is for changing the date and the other is for hacking the second hand.

It's also missing a cover plate that sits over the copper wire. I don't think the bracelet is original to this watch either. The reason I say this, is because they came with an integrated bracelet or on a leather strap. It looks like yours should have a strap. But for 150 quid it's a good find.

Can't be an integrated bracelet when end pieces fit perfectly I'd say ;-) This is most likely the original bracelet.

I can see that it is not an integrated bracelet, but my understanding is that if this model did come on a bracelet then it would be an integrated bracelet and if not it should have a leather strap on it. This one looks like it should have a strap but has had a bracelet fitted to it.

The bracelet looks like it came from a TC 1 or 2 with end links that belong to something else.

Why would it have to come on an integrated bracelet ? Besides I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing because unless you do some major case surgery you can't turn a watch designed for an integrated bracelet (no end links basically) into something else, be it a bracelet or a strap, the exception I suppose being the Nautilus although the bracelets and straps are not directly interchangeable.

There are two different cases for these watches, one that was designed for/with an integrated bracelet and one that was designed for a leather strap. My belief is that the case in the picture should have a leather strap and not a bracelet. I don't think anyone has done any surgery on this watch just fitted a bracelet that fits. Not difficult to do but not original.
