Is that the one from a seller from Germany? As you can see from similar listings he is asking a lot for it.
I do not really know if it is a fair price but I bought a stainless steel one if these on an after market leather strap for 600 USD. This may or may not be an indication of the prices being asked as ridiculous. They are not easy to come by but that said it can pay off to be patient and check forums and eBay for similar items.

Those are gold bricks, having held one in my hands.

The downside is that parts aren't readily available for the movement, even from Omega. So if ever it stops working, it won't be easy to fix.

I think this is the correct movement, but the electronic module is definitely not. It should have the early big golden capacitor like shown here:

    http://www.wiglaf.org/~aaronm/watches/patek_beta21/tn/Patek Beta open.med.jpg

The correct battery size is 357 not 389. I think that there is mounted a wrong power cell brace. Maybe it is from a 1301, 1302 or even a f300Hz.

Btw.: I have a golden 1302 it has stunning 175g.

Aha, this is a new way to smuggle gold!

Where is the best place to hide a leaf? In a forest, in plain sight! :p

You should wait for a better offer. Gold value is approx. 4000 to 5000€, I don't know the exact weight of this reference. I would not pay more than 6000€ for a correct one (with correct battery holder and electronic).

The case of this one is brushed to death. No sharp edges and no straight brush lines left.

Very nice Kelly Danse bag too she has there. The watch complements it well.

Me, as a result of the named bag information: Is that bag new?
    Her: What bag?
Me: the bag in the photo?
    Her: What Photo?
Me: The photo of you wearing the watch and I cut your head off, because I was taking a picture of the watch not you?
    Her: What Bag?

    .....ad infinitum

I think this strategy may transfer to watches,

    What watch?

There’s also a connection between hand bags and watches in our household. My wife’s recent purchase of another Chanel bag has enabled me to easily convince her that I needed another Speedmaster!

Oh oh, what did I do? :whistling:

From what I understand that bag is quite rare too as it's been discontinued for years - much less common than say a standard Hermes Birkin.

So funny story - my 4 year old son is sitting on my lap as I type this, and as I scrolled past the picture he said "I like her watch!"

I had some conservation with the seller. But as mentioned, it is very polished and the movement (he sent me some pictures) was in bad shape imho. It doesn‘t fit the case and semms to be damaged

The upside is if it ever stops working, you could still trade all that gold for control of a 3rd World Country.

@Spacefruit - would Mrs. Fruit like the sound of "Dama Presidenta"? It has a ring to it, don'tchathink? :p

Oh, and do me a favor - ask her if that's one of the Italian leather Dooney & Bourke bags. Let's see if I can still spot'em.

Just asked her. Apparently it’s a big fat no.

Even though it just got her in more trouble. Or rather my watch budget just went up.

    Thanks!

Since when was Dennis such an expert on women's haute couture. This snippet of information raises more questions than it answers...

I think Dennis must have been telling you to ask her that specifically to get you in trouble :D I don't think any woman wants someone to think her Hermès bag is a Dooney & Bourke.
