I'm considering buying a Hublot Big Bang off a friend of mine, a good price of course, but what are some more informed thoughts on the piece?

Hublot is one of the worst regarded brands of it's type. If you buy it, make sure it's a true inhouse movement and not an overpriced rebadged common ETA caliber.

There are a lot of fake Hublots as well, so unless your friend is a watch expert and has all documentation, get it inspected and verified.

FUSION! Went to a dinner once with Jean-Claude Biver, and he is a great speaker. He is very passionate about his pet projects, from watches to the family cheese business. I can't remember if the fondue we had that night used his cheese or not.

I certainly respect what he did with the Blancpain name when he brought that brand back to life.

He almost had me buying into the hype around the Hublot brand....almost...

For me this brand is a definite pass.

I too would pass. If you like these types of watches, the AP Offshore is probably a better way to go.

Me too i'll pass if ever I have the budget, I may get an AP or even get 2 rolexes.. or just saving mmore fund and i'll move to Patek nautillus
