Hi! I have this project with a MA 300, cal. 59 8-D from a 1930-50 bus or truck. First I have had a house made of wood to hold the watch, and then I had a new glass made to replace the cracked one there was in it when I got it. The next step is a movement overhaul, it runs but it needs a service. My question is how the get in to the movement on those??? Is it taking the winder and setting off on the back and taking the hands off and taking it out the front. Or is there a lock or some way else?? Help will be appreciated.
If the movement complete comes out from the front, you should be able to feel some looseness if you gently push/pull on the winder and setter. Looking at the second last pic, I think it comes out from the front. You could undo the winder and the setter and use plastic guitar pluck things or shaved credit cards to VERY GENTLY lift the dial/movement while watching the hands to see if it's the dial or whole movement moving. or Is there and sign of a gap or join between the caseback dome and the main frame?
I also notice that some of those movements are held in from the back, so explore every avenue before using leverage. See this info courtesy of the great @Bill Sohne http://omega.watchprosite.com/show-blog.post/msid-1231937/archive.fmenu_bLoB_s-0/
The winder unscrews against the arrow I believe. The time set button is probably pressed on. What's behind that little lid?
I think the dome shaped back cover can be removed after taking off the winder crank and the time setting knob.
