Hi everyone,

I've googled and tried reading a lot this evening to find out what number the correct green box for a Rolex datejust 1601 from 1973 should have?

Can anyone help me out or give me tips on the best place to buy/find them?

Thanks a lot 😀

Pretty sure it depends on the region where sold

mine “apparently” came with this small box when sold in london in june 1973 - but i didnt buy it from new, but a trusted rolex vintage expert has verified that indeed these boxes were used in UK at this time

but suggest look at sites like HQ milton, as they keep their sold listings active

Here's what I do:
As @Sherbie mentioned, HQ Milton has sold a bazillion watches over the years. Enter a search like this into google:
site:hqmilton.com 1973 datejust box
You'll get some hits. Here's a pic from the first hit:

With an idea of what to look for, you can go to eBay and enter a search like this:
(datejust,1601) (box,papers,set)
You'll get many hits. Sort the results by price, low to high, and pick one that looks right.

Hi,

Ephemerals are complicated "to match" for a correct period, depending market and .... AD 😀
In the past, the AD does the bundle when you pay : "I take those booklets and this box" => So sometimes you've watches with "wrong" boxes.

I know a box collector, if you want to ask him if he had your grail ask me in private.
