I have a watch that requires attention but my watch maker is not sure how to clean it... Any tips would be good.

I very much doubt that a dial as deteriorated as this one can be improved by attempting to clean it. You run the risk of losing the minute chapter ring, the sub dial chapter ring, and the Patek name. If you are bound you are going to try to clean it, find a dial finisher who will re-do a Patek dial before you start!

Looks to be beyond repair having been chemically cleaned rather aggressively in the past.

How to clean a dial? Well it depends entirely on the dial...

Some dials can be cleaned rather aggressively, and others I would not touch other than to remove and loose dirt that might be sitting on the dial. The dial above is already toast, so there's not much that you will do to improve it just by cleaning...

    Cheers, Al

^this. I'd say cut your losses with this one. Especially being a Patek. Good luck regardless though!
