If your a collector like me, you appreciate all brands. On a off note though, I do hold a special place in my heart for Omega and to be honest, the OF community is amazing and the layout of this forum is the best I've come across so far.

I just purchased Steel Pateks by John Goldberger and Moon Watch Only. I also have the Rolex Encyclopedia on order (3 books). I want to have a nice variety of books on watches. Can anyone care to share must haves for your book collection? also, if you can, post a picture or 2!

Thanks all!

Omega: A Journey Through Time (AJTT) and Moonwatch Only (MWO) have to be 1-2 for Omega (maybe 2-1 if you're a Speed freak).

I focus my books on watches I intend to own, plus various ones on watchmaking.

Several I consider essential...for me anyway.😀

The author of the top one is Zaf Basha, was not clear in the picture.

Zaf's book is headed for my shelf! Sala on the shelf already for UG's, and Zenith by Joél on the way as well (once it ships).

I agree 100% here, that's the basis for my books. For example, I have the UG by Sala book because I'm actively looking for tri-compax's (as is half the other collecting community).. Zenith book on the way because I want a nice A386 El Primero.. and JLC by Zaf, because I just bought a nice Memovox and want to learn more about it and other JLC dress watches and Chrono's.

great stuff guys, keep on coming!

I agree that I want to focus on watches I intend to own, but what happens if you want a certain model of every brand 😝 (which in my case I do!, plus my family is in the business, so I'm trying to gain as much knowledge and learn as much as I can everyday) 👍

I like this one. Obscure factory pics of watches. A bunch of Omega, Movado, and Rolex content. Unique pictures that I have not seen anywhere before.

A book on Longines movements called At the Heart of an Industrial Vocation by Patrick Linder is on my wishlist at the moment

If you need a book recommendation, look no further:

Almost makes me want to give away my watches and lead a more spartan way of life 😲. Almost

I was just coming down the thread toward the bottom to inquire about a Longines book and there's an answer.

Similar here. I have an old copy of The Rolex Report from years ago, a copy of MWO of course, and aside from catalogues the only other brand specific collector type book I have is Jaeger LeCoultre - The Story of the Grande Maison.

I have lots of watchmaking books though...

I'm reading a book by Stacy Perman, A Grand Complication: The Race to Build the World's Most Legendary Watch. It's about the competition between James Ward Packard and Henry Graves ... you all can probably guess the rest. Utterly fascinating.

Correct! It reads like a detective thriller combined with an amazing account of the social history of the Gilded Age. You'll love it.
