    Dear friends

Found this one for sale, I'm wondering if this dial looks ok? Any signs of being a redial or a franken watch? What about the movement (any signs of water damage)?

Any input would be highly appreciated.

Answering the question, the fact I don't know much about Seamasters from the 70's.

Go to calibre1040.com. They have information about this model and any other that use the 1040. I think that the dial looks like golden but it might be just the light.

Dial should be silver. I think only the pictures shows some golden color not the watch itself.
Dial and hands in good condition. Stop second with some blue color missing. 24 hour wheel at 9 o clock also with some color missing.
Movements looks good. Only some rust on a ring outside the movement.
Serial number starts with R. So the movement was replaced during a service. Dating the watch to a specific year is not possible.
Nice watch I would go for.

Also some damage on the sub dial below the hand. Otherwise i agree with the above.

    Thanks all for the feedback.

In the end, I've lost the auction, being outbid by another buyer who paid US$1.8K on it (I've offered US$1.5K, given the watch was in South America and you never know how much of duty taxes/fees you may end up paying).

Another chance will come and hunting makes fun.
One thing to mention is that if you want the watch on a bracelet buy it with the watch. It's nearly impossible to get the fitting 653 end links separate.
