    Here I go again, trying to find my first vintage watch. But its been hard to find here in Brazil.
    Someone is selling this one for 800 U$. Does this one look genuine?

    Movement looks genuine. But seems like someone was a little rough with it on a past service. Suspect it needs a good disassembly and cleaning. Dial looks okay. Non-original crystal? Broken seconds hand. 18k gold case, which is where most of the value probably lies.

    I personally would not be in a hurry to buy this for $800, as I suspect it will be closer to $1,100 once you have it worked on.

    Thank you. I thought It would cost me $200 aswell, tho I know someone specialized in vintage watches. Very competent.

    I would pay max 600, for the rest it looks genuine.

    This watch does not have a great collector value.

    Value is in the gold, which is probably $300 to $400, plus another $100 for the movement. Add in the cost of the service, you’re close to the $800 price at which the watch was offered to you.

    IMO, watch is overpriced by $200 to $300 minimum.

    Hurried purchases usually involve a noob tax, be patient, hang around here for six months or so.
