Listening to the kiddo pound her feet in the crib to fight off sleep. Then working on the front brake of my Specialized Epic MTB. Followed by a bowl of icecream and a movie with the lady ::love::

You’re project sounds more exciting, but I get icecream... Excited to hear more about your build. Your hobby posts along with some how tos posted by our resident watchmakers inspire me to try a few repairs myself.

Developing and scanning film. The scanning is tedious, but it leaves plenty of time for drinking.

Hopefully finding time to tear down the 1860s Gilbert OG clock I bought today...

All the parts seem to be present and straight... that’s always a good start.

Staying in a palace ( now a hotel ) in Estoi Portugal. Beer and wine prices are unbelievably cheap here. Beer costs 50 cent euro a bottle and house wine in local restaurant is 6 euro a litre. My liver is failing as we speak.

5th Wedding Anniversary Dinner. Did a 20km run in the morning and we were too tired to stay out so lights out at 10pm. Its amazing how when you are young you think you are going to party every weekend for ever. Sometimes by 6 pm I am counting down the clock so I can go to bed.

Your other half was delighted with that I would say. What an anniversary present.

    Wait... it gets worse!

For our twenty fifth I bought the little woman a nice rototiller That would get you killed earlier in life, now it’s a wonderful thing! She calls it the gift that keeps giving because I always get to wrestle with it, not her.

The pay back is the huge veggie garden we now have. Last years potato harvest lasted through the winter until May.

You got to work on your durability though... 20km is nothing if it leaves nothing for her at lights out. You’ve got to get to priorities right man!

Damn, now that I think about it, even that rototiller is getting a bit old. Yuk.

We stopped doing gifts after 15 years I think. Now no cards, gifts...for our 30th last month we spent the day playing tennis. Spent the evening at home relaxing with a beer. We did have a nice dinner out a few days before that was counted as the anniversary dinner.

Yep - in particular when you realize that there's not all that much time left - it all goes by so fast.

Watched a football game which my team won. Then spent some time on three projects in my workshop. Hardly rock and roll.

My wife is out, I've got the place to myself. I'm having a beer, watching Pink Floyds Pulse DVD and re-stringing 4 of these!.... feeling "comfortably numb"....That's reasonably rock 'n' roll... for a Sunday afternoon.

Just back from Alaska Salmonfest... a great 3 days of Fish, Love and Music far from the city overlooking the ocean of Cook Inlet and the mountains and volcanos across the Inlet. A few thousand people and lots of national and local musicians with a diversity of musical genres. All for the good cause of protecting salmon habitat, sustainability, and celebrating our cultural and economic connection to fish.
