Thanks so much for taking a look in advance. Im considering purchasing this watch, and wanted to get opinions on the case (and anything else that might be a red flag!) Would you say this case is very overpolished?
The watch is presented as all original, and has an extract from the archives. Thanks again for taking the time to look.

Not sure about the crown's originality, the case has been polished some but it's not the worst thing in the world. I don't know that I'd pay a premium for this one, but at a sober price point it'd be a nice watch to wear

Do you know the model number as there is a thread on here about 105.003-64s having slightly less bevelled cases than the -63 or the -65.

Looks a nice clean and tidy watch.

Dial, hands and bezel look fine to me, but the case looks very overpolished. All the edges are rounded off, losing their definition. Perhaps some of that can be rectified by someone more sympathetic to the original case design, but that would entail loss of more metal. All that said, it presents itself reasonably well, especially if the price is right. What shape is the movement in?

Thanks for all the responses. Its a 105.003-65, and I saw that thread about more beveling from the factory on the 65 cases. Which was helpful, but also
added to my confusion about how polished this case actually is. Here is a photo of the movement.

It's most likely Impossible to find a 60's straight-lugged Speedy that is unpolished or lightly polished (but OF members most likely have some). Perhaps the case designs changed slightly those years, but the modern straight-lugged Speedies (FOIS, CK2998, 60th Anniversary) all have clear flat facets/edges...not round. The 60th Anniversary is supposed to be replicated using CT scans of an original, so assumption (which may be wrong) is that the well defined flat facets are what they all were like once upon a time. That said, I wouldn't worry about it, it looks no worse than any other gorgeous pics member have posted...that's a gorgeous piece...do post pics when you have it.

I've seen better, and I've seen worse. What I'm not terribly fond of is the brushing on the top side of the lugs. That area should be polished and shiny.

Still, wouldnt stop me, depending on price.

I've seen a lot worse than that. I'd be willing to date her.

As others have said, it's not terrible but it's certainly not unpolished. I'd say it's been naively refinished once, possibly twice.

This is a -65 that's never seen a polishing wheel.
