I always assumed this was the case - but this morning I took delivery of my first rolex, an 16610 sub (thanks @watchlovr) and an hour later in my very first meeting the first words out of the other guys mouth was 'Hey, you have a new watch! You bastard, that' s the one I've wanted for years'. Genuinely, this has never happened to me before. Apologies for the shoddy photo - it was a rush...

That's too funny. Congrats on the new sub, looks great.

I would have one less if you were willing to compromise your anonymity and bought this all original transitional 16800 Matte Dial Sub from 1983?

I promise I won't rip you off [emoji6] [emoji482]

This thread is really interesting, that Rolexes highlighted here are mostly older, prior generation watches. I'm the same way, that much more partial to 5 digits over 6. a commonality among Omega fanbase?

Currently two Rolexes and one Tudor. Alas theyre all modern (but you'll see what I've done to the Exp1). Have my eyes out for ideally a 1680 red but at today's prices may have to go white or 16800.

While not initially a Rolex fan, I fell for Tudors first, but have grown to like the look of big brother.
Only 3, all with military provenance.
