Wearing a Rolex is not like you're wearing a sandwich board that says "I'm wearing a Rolex!" I've never had anyone comment on my Rolex when I wear one and I assume it's because it's not noticed.
I would have one less if you were willing to compromise your anonymity and bought this all original transitional 16800 Matte Dial Sub from 1983? I promise I won't rip you off [emoji6] [emoji482] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
0 but if my wife unit approves I'd like to add an explorer 1 (the new 39mm) to the rotation this year.
I have 2 (1675 and 1016).. and just lost an 1803 in the mail. I've bought and let go of enough Rolex Subs to know I generally don't like them. I am quite cynical about this. I wear Rolex primarily when I need to make a good impression during business meetings (like for example when I need a prospective business partner to treat me seriously), or when I want better treatment for services like at the doctor's office, or when trying to increase my business line of credit at the bank. Bankers in particular, always notice what I have on . Rolex watches are tools to an end. Much like a good suit, a well rehearsed elevator speech, or a well practiced karaoke song. Wearing a VC will not yield the same effect as 99% of who I will meet with in the USA will not know this from an Invicta or Technomarine. Everybody knows Rolex though. In Europe or Asia it will be different as everyone's brand awareness is as sharp as a box cutter.
+1...In 15 years I've never experienced this...even with the ubiquitous Sub...I've never understood this very common assertion..
I'm fortunate to own these two. I had many at one point and I thought it was indecent that they spent more time in the watch box than on my wrist. I still struggle with the perceived stigma attached to Rolex watches. For me they are just fine and interesting watches at the same level as the other watches I own. That's why "everybody" gets equal time on the wrist... Ok...some kinda ruin it..
E1, 5512, 1675, oyster red grape, 14060m, 16710 and i sold the Daytona ( which i regret but ill get one again sometime.) I also sold an e2 polar. Will get a white dial day dayte or OP at some point as well. Here are some pics j have on my phone.
Probably have owned 40, but only have 2, too indecisive to keep just a couple for ever and love to try new ones
I'm down to 6 (7 if you count the 1930's model) I peaked at 11.... Still miss some May even add in the future.... May trade for other brands... I love them... but they are not always easy to wear
