I was going to stop by an AD and check out sometime soon. For those of you who own it, how does it wear? I hear it sits well on almost all wrist sizes.
I haven't try it, but being a 41mm watch, I suppose it wears great on almost every wrist, just like the SMP
I didn't feel it wore larger then a Speedy Pro. It wears a tad smaller height wise then an SKX but that's the proportions of the longer lug to lug. The SKX is very square with short lug to lug. The new Globemaster is not very thick either. Yes the 44mm plus Speedy's and PO's are thick I'll give you that.
The micro adjust clasp is thicker than the no micro adjust clasp. Granted it's not much, but it is very noticable for me.
As a point of interest. Omega have thick watches that they design to look and feel thinner. Rolex have thinner watches that they design to look and feel thicker.
I've had it for a year and wear it very often. You can see a link in the first pic (sorry about the dirt). They stay pretty nice. It's a really, really class piece.
The 300 Master Co-Axial wears perfectly. Comfortable on the wrist, and the micro-adjustment clasp allows for fine tuning depending on conditions. It's a stunning watch, without being too flashy. Size overall is very good, and proportions are consistent. The only thing I personally did not care for was the two-tone bracelet. It's too "loud" for the watch and a pain to keep prints off the highly polished center links. I had a brushed finish applied to mine, and I am much happier with the overall combo.
if this watch had a date window, i will strongly consider it, i know its part of the original design, but i cant live withour a date window
From my limited experience with these, they wear rather like the Longines Legend Diver. That is to say they are very long lug to lug and need a relatively large flat wrist to sit right. The SMP or 42mm PO is a lot more comfortable on my 7.25" wrist. Try before you buy would be my advice.
I have a 6" wrist and, believe it or not, the 300 MC fits perfectly. The microadjustable clasp is a key feature - it provides a bit better fit than my SMPc. It's a slightly taller watch on the wrist than my Diver, though.
I put the PO adjustable clasp on my 300 Diver and it is more comfortable than the 300 MC to me now. A little backstory, when I got my 300 Diver I wore it for seven months straight, but when summer rolled around I couldn't get comfortable so I finally changed watches. I eventually put on the PO clasp on and put it into rotation. When I got the 300 MC it only took a few weeks before I was ready to put it in rotation. I actually questioned whether I had made the right choice in purchasing the watch. It feels much thicker to me than all of my other watches. Now that I have gotten used to it, I truly enjoy it. I also had reservations about the faux patina, the dial is awesome in person. Much more interesting than many of my others.
I tried one on at an OB recently and fell in love. I actually didn't even realize it was 41 mm, it felt smaller on the wrist. I do agree with some of the other commenters about the faux patina though, something about it just looks... off. Despite all that it's currently right up there at the top of my modern watch wish list, just gotta get those funds together!
+1 Agreed the long lugs makes the SM 300MC wear larger than a Speedy or modern Rolex Sub on a steel bracelet. I prefer to wear it on the Omega OEM NATO (the one used for Spectre) and it is extremely comfortable with that setup (even for water action). Love the dial and lume. Bezel rotation click is not as solid as it could be...overall a very nice alternative or complement to the ubiquitous Sub, personally for me more of a pure sports watch and I don't use it for work.
It's thicker due to the movement being bigger, the calibre 2500 is very thin compared to the 8500 and the 8900
