Mine has a sort of champaign patina, KyleL has some with some very interesting dials, one that almost has a leopard look to it that looks amazing.
Nice watch. Got a 354 myself. It's inside a 2799, a cousin of both your watches. It would be great to score a 50x inside a 2852 with a waffle dial.
@dennis : that's my dream watch.... !!!! it's hard to find Constellation 18k in my country, and a bumper 18k the hardest one... I just have a Connie Steel 2852 like this
by the way, is there any Connie 2799 in 14k case ? my friend has one, with just only one Swiss Assay mark in it lugs...
Picture of the collection my connie came from: The guy that owned it had 20 constellations and Seamasters, and a garbage bag full of Bulova Accutrons, the pie-pan was the pick of the litter though.
Incidentally he was selling everything because an auction of Nazi memorabilia was coming up and he wanted to purchase an original SS officer's uniform. To each his own I guess
That's a sweet watch. I suppose it's possible but I've never seen one. There isn't supposed to be any metal variation on the De Luxe 2799 and 2699 - they had solid 18ct dials, hands, and cases to my knowledge. I have a Seamaster De Luxe pie pan 2757 that's 14ct, but since there were case metal options with that reference it's not surprising.
