How do these watches have such clean markers and hands?

Hello,

I'm very new to vintage watches. I've been browsing quite a bit over the last few days and watches like these caught my eyes:

Are these hands and markers replacements? How are they so clean looking? Also the fillings are still completely white.

There are a few (okay exceedingly few) vintage omegas some up to 80 years old that have remained unworn or rarely worn and thus have survived to the present time with well preserved parts including dial and hands.

This watch for example is over 50 years old but is in nice shape:

The first watch is mine! I posted it here before and the experts gave it the all clear. Got it last year for a good price (under $500) and definitely a keeper.

From what I've seen in my searching, the best place to find well preserved watches is in this forum's private watch sales section.
Best of luck!
