How did I get to this point. I was thinking that people who wear Rolex are not so much of a watch guy (I was wrong) after I own a few of Omegas and learning more about watches. I ended up learning more and more about ROLEX and decide to get one, only when I found a good deal. Ended up with 2016 Sub C.

Now I got one and loving it. The pictures are below. The problem is since I don't make 1.5 mil a year, it makes more sense for me to reduce one watch out of my collection (sad). Sad looks like my PO will have to go.

Just want to say hello to everyone in the Rolex forum. I will be in here more often ;).

I think you made a great choice, never been much of a PO fan myself and the SubC date is an all time iconic watch.

Nice! But you also need to resist the dark side as much as possible too! I promised myself that the Sub would be the only Rolex but the power the dark side has could not be resisted so I put myself on a 5 year waiting list for the ceramic Daytona....::facepalm2::

The styles of Omega and Rolex compliment themselves very well inside a collection in my opinion. No reason to choose any single brand and deny yourself others whom you would enjoy equally well.

Congrats on your Sub! I'm certain you will find it fits quite well into your rotation.

A classic Sub is a classic Sub, period. And this space is actually reserved for a Speedy, but I like some colour every now and then:)

the Sub/GMT/Daytona are iconic. especially regarding the Sub, every collector should have one. it is the most iconic watch ever produced, imo. congrats on your pick-up!

I was just like you. In fact, growing up as a younger watch enthusiast, I swore Id never buy a rolex just because of the connotations. Of course all these years there was a rolex hidden in my subconscious from when I was in the 6th grade. We had a social studies teacher who's method of teaching as a substitute teacher was to have us read national geographics magazines and summarize an article. Voila Explorer 2 sat in my mind from those days. I didnt consider rolex as a watch option until earlier last year, when I saw some used explorer 2s in my friends vintage watch shop in manhattan. I was of course crushed to find out they ceased making 16570s in about 2012, with the last of them being sold out around 2014 according to the places I called. As I did more research I found there were submariners with out dates. I eventually ended up with 16570, 16013 and then trading that datejust and cash for a 14060M. Wear it in good health!

Isn't the bezel click action on the SubC superior than anything diver's on the market? That's what I think anyway!

It's definitely far superior to my Seamaster Pro 300M or the Glycine Combat Sub. But then again, the Rolex was 10X the cost of the Glycine, so one would expect a smoother click action on the Rollie.

OMG, I was just thinking about that yesterday. The bezel movement and sound are just so smooth. you are correct. The glide lock brace is also amazing as well.
