...I don't recall seeing this variant in the general release at Basel this year – was it introduced in the interim? Love the styling – subtly updated with more depth and texture, the weird ovalized registers are gone, and the water resistance has been kicked up to 100 meters, which is awesome. Only nitpick would be the butterfly clasp and the 18mm lug width. Otherwise, it feels like a proper modern update in the spirit of the Moonwatch without going too overboard in either direction. I'd honestly choose this over the more ubiquitous sapphire sandwich if the sizing agreed with my wrist... Looks like I'm going to have to try one on next time I'm at Tourbillon in SF. • ref. 324.30.38.50.01.001 w/ Calibre 3330
Your right! Moonwatch fanatics would say that!... and they would be right!... It aint a Moonwatch! And what makes it even more 'removed' is that, to some real Moonwatch fanatics, the 'Moonwatch' ain't a real 'Moonwatch'! Some of the 'die hard' fanatics on this forum might say that the 'Moonwatch' is really only a tribute to the 'Pre-Moon' Omega Speedmaster Professional references starting from the 105.012. (Which, let's face it, is the real, original, 'Moonwatch' simply because it is the only confirmed reference to actually land on the 'fakkin' Moon.)
"Bad taste" is an undervalued human right @oddboy! My Granny hid under the kitchen table with my Dad, during the blitz, as Hitler's bombs rained down on London so that you could enjoy the freedom to make jokes in "bad taste" and take the piss!... Go on!... go for it!
I could never get over the wonky spacing on the Reduced, and was never one for all the moon hysteria, and just love this as a Speedmaster.
Let's go with your bad taste theme @oddboy That's exactly what I thought when I tried one on my wrist in a watch shop. I liked it until I put it next to my 105.012-65. Then the 38mm watch did not look so impressive. To illustrate it works like this really: My friend Debbie (5 feet 6 inches or 1.68m tall) has lovely, big, natural boobs. 36DD But as much as I love them, they can never compete with my (4 feet 10 inch or 1.48m tall) friend Toni's natural boobs. 34J....... like the original, old, Omega Speedmasters, they are in a class of their own. See what I mean here: https://www.fratellowatches.com/spe...ed-versus-speedmaster-professional-moonwatch/
i let mine go because of the tales of the service costs. the whole piggy backed module did make for a slightly odd case, even though it wasnt very tall in hand.
I just think it looks cheap, and dislike a date window on a Chronograph. That’s not to say they won’t sell eleventybillion units and make more money than I could imagine. Horses for courses.
No, not really. This is a continuation of the ladies speedmaster line of 38mm watches. I bought my wife a white one a few years ago. Based on the 7750 movement.
The difference here is that the 3330 is a fully integrated chronograph, based on the 7750. To me this is more like an updated Speedy date, than an updated Reduced.
I actually found this picture of the Mrs. trying on the reduced in the Miami Omega Store (btw., they provide world class service):
