Hi fellows,

As I said before, I'm servicing a vintage SM300. Of course the stem was broken due to some rust. I'm willing to save that crown because it's unusual. See the narrow logo. Of course I could replace it but it won't be originaL I think that you undestand me you geeks!
There's a tiny part left out of the stem. really small and rusty. What do you suggest. I thought of 2 things. Drilling with a 0,5 mm drill or try Vissin.

Religion jokes aside, we need professional advice. Let me put up the Bat Signal: @Archer! Can you give a tip Al?

Since the stem is ferrous and the crown is not, you might burn it out with an EDM. Well, not you (nor me!) but an expert.

I agree you should try to save the original crown, but calling everyone geeks might not get you a lot of help.

Pretty much anyone capable of giving a correct answer would happily answer to geek.

You can pay Bergeon for Vissin if you like, but alum from the spice aisle at the grocery store is a lot cheaper...

Place and cover completely in a small bowl of white vinegar, cover to prevent evaporation, come back in a week...
