I've been polishing scratches from glasses; fitting new straps; regulating watches ...

And I'm about to go find a bottle of scotch old enough to sleep with, the go online to buy a demagnetiser. Still need to find a crown for the Everest.

    How's everyone else relaxing?

If that broad had a better neck there'd be no need for the bottle.

Since i was and still am a complete beginner in mechanical watches, i have been reading a lot of material i the past months. Big thanks to this forum!
Then decided to do a little DIY Project (http://www.clockmaker.com.au/diy_seiko_7s26/).

And now i have started a new projekt. I want to repair my very first watch that i have been wearing for the past ~20 years.
So i got myself the necessary tools over the past few months. And got myself an old Donor watch on a flea-market to experiment and to train.

Yesterday i managed to "successfuly" assemble the movement for the first time. Successful for me means the movement is ticking :)
It will be a long journey! but i enjoy it a lot, and i really like to learn and understand the mechanics behind it.

P.S. i think i needed an hour to place the balance spring inside for the first time. I needed a beer afterwords :D

My mate's had a massive double stroke and has been reduced to "non-operational" status at this stage.
    :(
His wife is trying to run a business, travel an hour each way to visit him twice a day, deal with insurance medial submissions and sleep.

We spent the day at their house doing gardening, mowing grass, cleaning patios, cleaning up cat litter, washing dishes, washing laundry, vacuuming, sweeping, fixing stuff around the house, getting some nice flowers, looking after their cat etc etc. All the things she can't do with only 24 hours in her day.

After a nice hot shower and a salad dinner I'm relaxing these old bones with a wee dram (or two) of GF 12YO and watching "Episodes" on the idiot box.

I can't "like" that one but good on you for that. The help in times like that often goes unnoticed but it will never be forgotten.

When I see what they're both going through, our contribution fades into insignificance, but when we see her face when she comes home to a fresh house, well.............that's worth a million bucks to us.

Jaguar Drivers' Club monthly meeting tonight at a local pub. Nice cars, good food/beer and a chat. The JDC have track days, hill climbs, outings as well as the standing around talking about cars. I'll be wearing an Omega Constellation so some relevance to the forum!

Montage from the first "Somerset area" meeting at the end of August.

I have my family visiting me in Bucharest this week. I have not seen my brother for three years. It has been fantastic to spend with my family, even more so after reading what JiminOz friends are going through. It is a poignant reminder of how much more important it is to spend quality time with friends and family.

An old friend of mine got one of the very last XJS' to come off the production line. A leather lined, V12 powered beast that was lower than the original mini .... just a shame I struggled so much to fit inside it.
