We've talked a lot about cal. 321 speedmaster chronographs (and to a lesser extent seamasters) so how about the dress chronographs? Here is a jumbo 37.5mm one in an 18k YG case (swiss case of course).
The blue second hand is an unexpected twist to this look and it works beautifully. Looks pretty shiny. Yours?
Very cool, with a dial that clean and simple and a bezel that thin at 37.5mm this watch must really wear rather large on the wrist, I really love these early square pusher gold chronographs.
What year is this one btw? I thought most of these really early ones were Cal 27 CHRO C12 pre-321s but I'm not sure when that change happened
Watch is from the early 1950s - a cal. 321 with a serial in the 12.9-13 million range. It also has its original 18k YG omega buckle. A rose gold one of this with a patinated dial sold for 8,750 CHF at AQ last year. While less desirable than the early 321 speedmasters, they are probably harder to locate than the 2915 speedmaster condition being equal - fewer were probably made, many likely had their cases melted down and since they are older in a snapback cases, very few have survived in nice shape.
there really is nothing finer than a large gold chronograph sitting like a pancake on your wrist. Big fan of 'em myself
Best way to find out is to post good photos back and front in a new post. (Iphone photos seem good enough for ID) Even better would be photos of the inside of the case back and movement, including the movement number - but that needs a skilled human to undo the back. A friendly local jeweler might just do it if you ask nicely. Its an interesting watch....I like it.
