I have a space problem developing, not an Apollo 13 type space problem but a space problem all the same. I have three storage boxes for my watches, one holds my Apollo 11 Speedy series, the other my non Apollo 11 Speedies and the other my mixed watches. I have two places left in the Apollo 11 box which I intend to fill, no spaces in the other speedy box and six left in the miscellaneous box. Problem is I have one non Apollo 11 Speedy on the way and 3 miscellaneous watches on the way. I also have a power problem, not like an Apollo 13 power problem but a will power problem, if I buy another storage box I will feel the need to fill it because that is what we do and then the vicious cycle starts all over again. This watch hobby is just so stressful.
Impressive Mr. Barking Mad I have got an idea. Why don't you buy one (or better two) of these cool B & Z vaults... so your unbelievable treasures are stored safely. they look quite cool. check it out on their website...
Have you considered having a custom watch box made? This way you can decide how many watch spaces you have.
These dreamboxes hold 72 watches and seem very nice indeed Currently a german seller offers them at ebay.
Quality humble brag I would suggest getting bigger boxes and immediately destroying the original ones to reduce the urge to purchase more watches.... or just purchase more watches.
You might consider collecting pocket watches. How many you gather determined by the capacity of your storage space, rather than the capacity of your wallet!
I think the psycho-analytic term is CWH, Compulsively Watch Hoardering. It sits in you reptile brain, an inheritage back from the stone age people who hoarded nuts and berries in order to survive. I'm pretty sure I'm suffering from it myself. I also think there is help to get, psycho therapy. But why be cured, when it's such an enjoyable disorder?
Just start selling 5 existing watches to fund a new one. Repeat 4 times. Problem solved........... for a while.
If there was a fire and you only had time to grab your sweetheart and one briefcase, I'm guessing you'd grab Briefcase #1 (the leftmost)
I'd grab in the following order: 1. Box on left 2. Box in the middle 3. The dog 4. Box on right 5. Girlfriend/wife Also, with two open slots in left box, there is room for the 45th anniversary Apollo XI... which is conspicuously absent.
