Hi All - I noticed the hour markers on the Speedmaster pictured below have noticeable breaks where the stepped dial starts. I know the dial has a significant impact on a watches value. Can anyone quantify the impact for me of this fault in the hour markers? Appreciate any other comments on the watch as well. (Yes, I know it has replacement hands.) The hands might be more of a negative than the dial. (Coming from a guy with replacement hands on his -76)

Lume looks like it has been removed. Need better pictures.

Definitely need macro shots to give an opinion if your watch.

However a break in the lume at the step is not uncommon. I don't think it affects value, at least not in my humble opinion .

I'd say that the break in the lume does have a negative effect on value. Or at least it does for me.

What bothers me is that some of the breaks appear to be beyond the step?

According to the Constitution, breaks in lume on stepped dials are a $149.28 discount.

Wish I knew this earlier before I bought my speedmasters. I am $298.56 behind now.

Were they bought in the United States? If not, you'll have to refer to the Articles of Federation, but I'm not an expert so I don't know what your entitlement would have been

The "Break" on the hours markers is not a fault.
This is how the dials were printed.

The reason why you see a more pronounced break on some watches more than others is due to Tritium deterioration.
When the Tritium lume is present, it covers the "Break" on the hour markers so they are not very noticeable.
Once it deteriorates, or "washed" completely, it reveals the White dial print underneath and the break is reveled.
