This is going to make me sound a bit over the top, but I'm looking for a bit of advice on how to deal with limiting wear on the case back of my first, "good luck" Speedmaster that I have worn nearly every day since I bought it new 25 years ago. I have what I call a "burner" Speedmaster (2007) that I was going to start wearing, but I keep coming back to my original, and the case back has lost its definition and crispness (picture below). Is there something that forum members do to protect the inscription/detail and still wear the watch, or do we simply accept the growing wear as an honest sign of usage?
I second that. Go gor a display caseback. Problem solved and it looks great! By the way, I also tried having a second Speedy for rotation, but I’m stuck with my favorite one constantly (and I’m not complaining)
Are these display casebacks thicker than a regular one, and do they hold the movement firmly in place (now that the dust cover is removed?) Lastly, are there any that people here recommend?
