Went and picked up two watches today, both look great and seem to be keeping time well. Got the Geneve recently for cheap and decided it was worth servicing.....not sure about the band but it will do for now. Got the older tank style watch over 20 years ago from a girlfriend and had it serviced back then but never really wore it as I was young, foolish and afraid of damaging it. Need to decide on a band also but just grabbed something thin today as I may end up giving it to the wife. Wanted black but all they had was dark blue in a thin style so that will have to do for now until she decides if she wants it otherwise I may keep it for myself as the size is fine on my wrist with a bigger band.
Don't open the geneve if it's just been serviced. Not sure what seal it has but some have seals that are one use and should be replaced after each opening. Someone might know but I would not open a watch that has just been serviced for just a looksie...
Always get your watchmaker to take a few picture,s, most won't mind the good ones do it without asking...
