He's messing with you in a friendly way. Relax :)

Do you have their website link in English? The quality is there, and no ones doubting it. Seems like a nice Orient competitor.

    Wow.

I have no skin in the game, but having done some Googling about, I'd say that in my opinion, they are an almost unknown microbrand with very limited exposure. Therefore the chances of somebody else who owns one chiming in is small. The general aesthetics don't appeal to me, and to my mind they are somewhat overpriced at full MRSP, but do seem to be of reasonable quality. However, that's just my opinion, and my original point holds.

Buy what you like and wear what makes you happy, not what other people say should make you happy ;)

You must be referring to me.

I had a chance to read the WuS post where the OP posted the same information. The automatic movement is a Miyota, similar to those in Citizens (Miyota's corporate parent) and some Invictas.

They seem to do a lot of "limited editions", which is OK I guess if you are into that sort of thing.

I don't think they represent a good value for money, as I can purchase an equivalent Invicta Rolex homage with the same movement or a Seiko (with an in-house movement) for well under $100 on Amazon. Orient also has a decent reputation in Japan, and is at least trying to expand its marketing outside the Far East.

Sorry for having insulted the OP, but I just see nothing special about this brand that warrants a higher price point than a basic Seiko or Invicta.

I think the OPs watch has a Seiko N35 movement.

Don't forget folks posting "homage" pieces mimicking known brands , like Submariners, is not permitted.

Purely for the sake of debate and observation (i.e this is not meant to be a dig at the seller...) I was very interested to see one of the below watches come up for sale on the forum ( and sell quickly too )... where do you draw the line at an 'homage'?

Surely somewhat inspired by this ???? (Still need to get a photo in better light)

Or an Orient mako as a Sub...

The line is very fine and fuzzy on this point.

If you see something like that, let us know with the report post tool, I had never even seen that Breitling until you just posted it as its not a brand I've ever owned or been familiar with so its difficult on some of the more obscure references.

There are TAGs and Bulovas that are virtual clones of rolex. We can't discuss them? That seems... idk wrong

If you're talking about the WAB2010, its not anywhere near close enough to be a homage watch, its just a similar looking diver.

The Marina Militare, the MKii explorer clones etc are homage watches.

It's a 765 AV I from 1963 - something else that Mr Henry has given more than a nod to ....

I think most designers today are "standing on the shoulders of giants" to some extent. To my way of thinking, a homage or something that takes design cues for another model is one side of the line, whereas something that slavishly copies an existing design without adding anything to ameliorate the intent to deceive is in the other side of the line.

Now, if I could only figure out exactly where to draw the line.............

If the line is being drawn as strict as indicated here, all Dan Henry content should be deleted. Apparently homages are okay as long as they are not homages of Rolex watches ;)

Seiko has made several Rolex homage watches over the years. So has Invicta. Alpha's entire product line was nothing but homage watches.

I get the part about not publicizing obvious fake watches (Cimega, Hormilton, Longuine, etc.) without proper disclosure.

However, when TAGHeuer is using a Rolex knock-off bezel and Bulova uses a screw-on 8-sided bezel like Audemars Piguet, where do you draw that line?

These are all legitimate watch brands.
