Finally, completed! Sorry for the photos, this watch seems to just be camera shy, can't seem to get a shot that truly captures how it looks in person, it looks spectacular on my wrist, just can't seem to capture it in a photo... I decided to create an homage to the 1894 homage released in 1994, but housed in a bulkier case, I never quite warmed up to the "thin" lugs on the homage and original chronometer - not to mention, the cases are rare and expensive. So I went with a refurbished 36mm SS case dated to the early 1950s (ref # 2506); we were able to get all of the little dings out, and it polished up like new. The Movement: I was lucky to find a completely refurbished NOS 269 movement, the same used in the 1894 homage, and the last version of Omega's masterpiece 30mm line (technically a 30T6). The movement is just gorgeous! The Dial: I found the dial from an Omega dealer in Sweden, it came in a sealed Omega capsule (looked like a big contact lens case) with the back marked "269". I really don't think it is a re-dial, it looks 100% correct, and new. I have seen re-dials and they are obviously old base material that have been reworked. Thoughts on whether Omega would even have "extra" 1894 dials around?? It has an interesting shimmer to it that I really can't capture in a photo, and I read the Omega original is rhodium plated. Nevertheless, it looks fantastic. Couple more shots. Curved end band from Hirsh, hands by Ofei, and.... "no es for sale"
