A punt on EBay: how often have you heard those words?
Price reflected poor photos and a scuff on the crystal which will either polish out or I'll learn to live with it, this being a beater and bedside clock.
Weight of watch & bracelet 142gm. Model number 2265.80.00, serial number suggests 1998 manufacture.
The helium release screw moves about half a turn, the bezel isn't ready to move and I shall contact the seller before introducing silicon lube.
    Tell me guys please - is it legit? tmp-cam-800935376.jpg tmp-cam--2108505184.jpg tmp-cam--1286654596.jpg tmp-cam-370686282.jpg tmp-cam--136016701.jpg tmp-cam--1772242622.jpg tmp-cam--1459974800.jpg tmp-cam--19458027.jpg tmp-cam-1526695565.jpg tmp-cam--1115576979.jpg tmp-cam--461857679.jpg tmp-cam-2003683152.jpg

Others that know this way better than I will be along shortly to comment, I am sure. It is just my gut reaction, that could be completely wrong, but the quality of workmanship makes me think it could be a fake. But wait for the experts before fretting!

Okay. Factory fresh I know it isn't. The movement has been out of the case judging by marks on the sweep hand. The white text printing on the dial overlays the wave and both elements are crisp.

Yeah, it's probably okay. The dial writing threw me a bit; looks jaggy but could be the pic.

Looks perfectly genuine to me. Half a turn sounds about right for the helium valve.

It's the pic, definitely. I've just cape codded the crystal and things are looking up, as is the clasp. Case back next.....

Thanks. And the bezel should rotate?

I do follow this model and that is fine. Clasp needs rebrushing. Cape cod is good only for the bezel insert on these. Elsewhere it will trash the brushed finish. A scratched crystal would be expensive, it’s sapphire.

Just done some quick research on this model as I'm no expert, but I compared the pictures you've posted & ones from the wonder web . And all looks good to me , I mainly focused on the detailing on the quartz movement & couldn't see any stand out detailing that looked wrong .

I'd say it is fine. I had one a long time ago...well, a similar version with the black bezel. Just used but ready for a new life.

Well it does seem to need a battery (good to replace even if it came with one)

Yes, the bezel should turn. There’s likely 20 years of crud built up underneath it. It has probably never been removed from the watch and cleaned, since it is quartz and “service” was probably just a battery change.

Watch is perfectly legit. Correct battery is a 371.

    Cheers, Al

Page one is enough for an Omega novice like me.

Blessed with short arms and long pockets I've already figured a way to save oh $395 of those $400; I'll open the helium valve, slide it inside a condom (if that doesn't translate across the Atlantic I'm talking about a gentleman's prophylactic - google it if you must), take it to one of those stores which helium inflate kids party balloons, get them to partially fill the condom - and the watch with helium, work through the rubber to close the valve thus charging the watch. And here's the killer touch.... use the helium charged condom in the way the manufacturer intended for dramatic effect!!!

    You guys are so helpful.....
