Some may feel their watch collecting obsession may be a bit over the top.

    Then there's this. Military MREs?

I remember MREs from the time I was in Cadets. Man, trading between others for the right meal...

Work with several countries military forces and there is a fair bit of swapping of MREs between forces ( in date ones ) at training exercises. The Singapore and Aussie ones are always sought after by the US guys.

If an Omega Forum member collected MREs, I could imagine a post like this: I can't recommend that '63 Russian MRE due to spotting on the M&Ms and the replacement fruit can but overall it's an honest example.

I assume by spotting, you mean patina. ;)

MRE patina probably means mold. Although I have seen so-called watch "patina" that most would consider to be mold.

Weird stuff! I was into a shop looking for military bike stuff once and found the owner behind the counter enjoying his Christmas rations.

An olive drab tin marked: Fruitcake, US Army, 1944..... it looked pretty dry so when he offered me a tin I passed. He had a whole case of them!

Got some nice insulated carriers for the Triumph's racks though.
