Beautiful collection. The white dial variant looks nicer than the black imo because the black tip hour indices are a subtle yet unique design feature. Don see that often in vintage watches

Gbesq, born in 1958, and Rancheroless, looks longingly at collection. “And then, depression set in” 😲

Wow, really nice one! 13 uSv/h is a LOT, keep it away from you as much as possible until you make it clean from radium.

Don't worry about Radium. Before you clean off the Radium , as suggested, send it to me. Have a few WW2 pilot chronographs with higher readings. Wear them as well. Radium will be negligent at your wrist and looses a lot through the crystal upwards. Do that test and put a few mysteries into perspective .....

Obviously it has to be seen in perspective. 13 uSv/h are measured through the crystal. The dose downwards (wrist) would be much lower. It always depends on how you use the things. 13 uSv/h close to the crystal would mean 312 uSV each day in the same conditions, this is about 3 dental X-Ray each day. But obviously you don't hold the watch close to your face 24 hours 😀.
The most important thing to understand is the cumulative effect, that has to be considered, as many things in our lives. The radiation we absorb every day is harmless just because our body is safely able to repair the damages done. You are free to add a little dose in a watch, if you want.

I have a vintage watch of my grandfather (not Omega), that had similar radiation levels. I asked the watchmaker to clean the hands and use something else in place of radium, with the same color. The cleaning of the indices was impossible to do, so now the radiation level halved, and this was acceptable to me.

For me a must is to warn the people to know what they are using. That said, everybody has to choose how to behave!

There is one more VERY RARE Ranchero variety that is, I think, impossible to hoard.
Reference 2996-1, caliber 284, center seconds Ranchero.
Produced May, 1959, delivered to Canada.

Impressive, the condition of the four are just outstanding…

How long did it take to get those together?

Wear all of them in good health 😀

Not proud to show you this one, I feel like a hoarder, I am sure I could settle with just one of them....

But never the less I got this one and have been waiting almost a month for an extract and now it has arrived.

A nice 2990-1 cal. 267 delivered to Finland in 1959, not sure about the crown and I have to get the Radium lumen stabilized 😀

Are you sure you need them all?
