This prototype Omega hummer diver went for just over $95k at Phillips last night, wonky lume and all.
You're most likely correct. A cursory search showed the top end F.P. Journe Quartz, and the Hoptroff No. 10 are both around US$65,000.
I assume the ‘interesting’ design of the hands is for visibility at extreme depth, because it’s certainly not easy on the eye.
Wow! That’s quite a surprise. These get a mention in this useful resource: https://www.omegaseamaster1000.com/
That's the most outrageous hand design I've ever seen. Absolutely love it! The bezel is not without flair either
Not by a long shot. First thing that jumps to my mind are the Credor watches with lots of complications like the Sonnerie - Spring Drive so quartz and I believe well over $400k. But if that isn't "non-mechanical" enough for those who still believe that the SD is a mechanical watch (it isn't, but people persist) then get on the Gargler and look for the Graff Hallucination Watch...I think it retailed for $55 million...and is a traditional quartz watch.
The minute hand looks like a bomb, and may be just as radioactive! Thanks for sharing. It's a cool watch for crazy money.
Certainly I wasn't endorsing the aesthetics! Just pointing out that the watch listed here as potentially the most expensive falls very short of what has been done already...for the record diamonds on any watch don't work for me, so I'm as far away from a Jacob & Co. fan as you'll find...
