I have now stopped using the watch and left it in the room safe and it’s has cleared

As the watch is a diving watch can I ask for any advice please as to why this would have happened I assume I will need I have a service undertaken when home in the Uk

Is your watch quartz, or mechanical? If quartz, you have probably had a battery replacement done. If you have had a battery done, did you ask to have a water resistant test done, after the cell change? You say the watch is a diving watch. You dive with it, or perhaps swim with it? Not all Seamasters are actually diver’s watches. Which model do you have? You asked for advice as to how this might happen. To put it in the simplest terms, it is not water resistant!

It needs drying out. After 5 yrs, a service is probably a good idea.
