Hi All, Im looking to purchase a Seamaster De Ville. I was looking at this watch on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STUNNING-...653164109?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item27f7536c4dPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network - but worried at how new it looks. Does anyone know the model no. of this watch? And can anyone comment on its authenticity? Also where is the best place to buy vintage omega watches in the Uk in your esteemed opinions? thanks, Conrad
I am not much more than a newb, but it looks over polished to me Does the back usually say "waterproof" like that? Should check other watches for this.

Hmm it seems lots of the genuine watches in the private watch sales show 'waterproof' on the back also.
One thing I was wondering about was the luminous dot and the fact that the "omega" symbol isnt embossed as much as other examples. I havnt seen this on other models.
What exactly is a re-dial, does refreshed not mean that they have just cleaned it? Re dial = not original?
Redials are repainted dials of the original watch so technically it is a authentic watch but collectors don't have much to do with them. Places take a cheap older watch and polish them too much and redial and try to sell at several times the watches value.
Dont get me wrong it looks like a nice watch if you want to wear it. But dont pay to much and would be hard to sell later on Read this thread http://omegaforums.net/threads/the-draper-seamaster-rare-as-hens-teeth.4899/
Try to get a movement shot as well. you won't, and for good reason. I bought an omegawatch from Korea almost as an experiment - I wanted to see what was inside. I'm pretty sure they've glued the case back on on mine - I haven't had the heart to take a hammer to it, but when indo, i'll update this post...
