We've never changed any of them, part of the reason we haven't added some is that they cause a great deal of formatting problems and make it difficult to read content, especially on mobile which is over 40% of all of our visitors. That exploding head for example pushes the line that its on down by nearly 4 rows which ruins the paragraph it appears in. There are some smilies that also tend to just be used for one symbol junk posts, that flame one being a perfect example, someone will post it then 10 others will post the exact same thing, both trashing a thread and keeping it bumped at the same time to everyone's annoyance.

Ahhh, gotcha. Never thought about mobile viewers, so that 'blow your top' explanation certainly makes sense now.

How about just a few, like the 'sneaky sarcastic', 'angry / miffed', 'ROFL', and other simple small ones?
