Hey everyone, I’d love to get your thoughts on something (ref. 166.099)

I’ve fallen for this Omega Geneve, reference 166.099, from the 1970s—it’s such a beautiful piece. However, I’m a bit concerned it might be slightly over-polished. The photos aren’t the clearest or best quality, so it’s hard to tell. What do you all think?

It's definitely over-polished, but it's a beautiful watch! If it doesn't cost a ton, and you can trust that it has original watch parts, you should pick it up!

If you like the esthetic, Service because you have a high level of rotor wear.

Thanks on your opinion! What would you consider a fair price?

Yeah, probably true. I wouldn't even mind changing the rotor if needed. I would really wear it, not collect. What would you consider a good price on this one?

Looks nice for a watch to wear. What is seller looking to get for it?

I'd be happy to wear it, it has been polished and the rotor looks a bit rough but if the price is right, why not?

Yeah, it is truly a beautiful piece. Even though I am pretty sure the dial is not original. I was ready to pay 500 euro for it, but the auction got crazy in the last minutes and the final price was 900 euro. Waaaaay too high, but well.

Lovely dial. I'd love a Chronostop in that colour.

Good call letting it go when the price got out of control. There will be other opportunities in that spec for sure.
