yes, it looks good to me but getting a second opinion is always prudent. im not an expert but have been watching them for a few years. i know it is a mk1 compressor case as the bezel has 18 teeth per section. dial and hands look good to me. 129,xxx serial was a head scratcher as OTD reference table lists 108xxx to 109xxx as correct but CajunTiger (whose opinion I trust) said 129,xxx is fine for these in the below thread. have also found a few other older sales posts from respected dealers with serial numbers in that range. https://omegaforums.net/threads/question-on-this-heuer-autavia-2446-c.50043/
i took the plunge. this came from the original owner and i bought it for a song. will clean up the crystal with some polywatch tonight. the bezel is in fantastic condition. watch is running like a champ. anyone have an opinion on if the watch is unpolished? it looks like it may be to me.
It's hard to tell but the clean lines of the case definitely make it appear to be unpolished. Great pickup and fantastic watch!
still have some more work to do to the crystal but 5 min of elbow grease and polywatch and the dial has really come alive.
Looks sharp to me..Very nice. Any movement shots? So jfmiii, what are your plans? Daily wearer? Safe Queen? One to add to the rotation? Put away for retirement? I ask as I bought an 11630 Argentinian Air force issue some 9 years ago. Mine is some of the above.. So I guess I had better add a pic for case comparison at least.. .
Thanks everyone! This is definitely a keeper (for now!). Ive wanted one since before the big Heuer run-up in 2016/2017 and never pulled the trigger. As these approached and passed $10k, I figured it was another missed opportunity. The big pullback in Heuer prices allowed me to pick this one up for a really really great price and about what I wouldve paid had I bought one 5 years ago. I'm still unsure if I got a real amazing deal or if the Heuer market is still that bad. Curious what the more knowledgeable Heuer collectors on OF think of the Heuer market at present. Dealers seem to still be offering these at $10-14k and I dont think there is any way they are trading anywhere close to that. I'm thinking private party is $7-8k but the market on these isnt as transparent as Rolex, imo. Regardless of whether those prices are fair value, I feel like I absolutely stole this one for the price I paid and never thought I'd get the opportunity to purchase this watch for so little money ever again. Have a strap from Stewart at Heuerville on order and I expect to enjoy this one for some time to come!
A really nice example in my opinion. I picked up a cheapish 7763c just a few months ago, but it’s certainly not as good condition as yours. I agree that pricing is very difficult right now. I’ve seen dealers ask almost $10K for these, but private eBay sales tell the real story.
